I am excited to be partnering with Terri Cramb, of T-Fit & Nourish Studios, on a retreat coming to the Powell River area this August! It will be a day to learn, move, make and eat wonderful, healthy food, relax, rejuvenate and NOURISH your body, mind and soul. Interested?

What’s it all about?

The day will start around 11 am (giving participants time to get to Woodwardia on Texada Island from Powell River on the 9:35 am ferry). After registration there will be a number of activities that you can participate in, including:

  • Introduction and welcome with short mindfulness practice
  • Nourish Your Body and Mind With Plants
  • A presentation by Emma about the benefits of including more whole plant foods in your daily diet, and some practical suggestions for how to do that deliciously
  • Cooking demo on building composition smoothies and composition meal salads, which will turn into lunch!
  • Cooking demo/class on how to make quick, easy but delicious sauces that can be used a variety of ways in healthy meals…turns into dinner!
  • Nourish Your Body and Soul With Movement – yoga/movement session with Terri (all levels)
  • Walking meditation on the beautiful Woodwardia property with Penny
  • Yin/Restorative yoga with Jessica
  • Watersport option (swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding) – this will be solo, but a lifeguard will be on site
  • Nourish Your Mind and Soul With Sound & Touch
  • A sound healing presentation by Cindy
  • Optional massage by Tia Monsell will be available throughout the day for an additional cost of $1 per minute.

Keep in mind, this is YOUR day. You can choose to participate in EVERYTHING, or if there are times you just want to chill and be with nature, that’s ok too (Woodwardia is an incredible place to do just that!) All your food for the day, including snacks, coffee and tea and water between meals, is included with the cost of the retreat.


What do I need to bring?

A few good things to bring:

  • Clothing layers (we will be close to the water at times, so something warm is a good idea)
  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and stretching
  • A water bottle
  • Sun cream & hat and/or protective clothing
  • A bathing suit, water shoes and a towel if you think you would like to swim
  • A travel coffee/tea mug (ceramic mugs will be available but if you’d like to bring your own travel mug, that might be a good idea)
  • A yoga mat (if you don’t have a yoga mat, they will be available to rent for the day for $5, but you must book this ahead of time)
  • A light yoga blanket or towel for yin/restorative
  • sturdy walking shoes for the walking meditation, or for wandering the property

 
Where is Woodwardia?

Woodwardia is a beautiful 530-acre piece of private untouched land situated on the northwest coast of Texada Island – and this is where the retreat will be taking place. In keeping with its owner’s desire to keep it as close to nature as possible it is largely undeveloped, and is kept rustic. Much of the retreat will take place outdoors, weather permitting, so it is important to bring appropriate clothing and footwear (and to prepare for changing temperatures). Woodwardia is just a few minutes drive once you get off the ferry at Blubber Bay, and you will receive a map with instructions of how to get there with your registration package.


Who’s running this retreat?

This event is a partnership between Plant Based RHN (Emma Levez Larocque) and T-Fit/Nourish Studios (Terri Cramb). We are also joined by a number of popular local teachers who will help us to make your experience of this day unforgettable. Here’s a bit more information about each of us:
