Food is Medicine: Plant-Based for Chronic Disease

4-week series: Fridays, February 23 – March 16, 2018 10 am – 12/12:30 pm
Location: Powell River Recreation Complex

Registration is now closed. This 4-part series will be co-presented by Emma Levez Larocque (Plant-Based Chef and Registered Holistic Nutritionist) and Dr. Danielle Marentette (Family Physician). It is designed for people who are looking to change their diet to improve a chronic disease. Learn the nutrition science on why and how a whole-food plant-based diet can help improve common chronic diseases such as type II diabetes, heart disease and some cancers, as well as practical advice on what a healthy plant-based diet consists of on a daily basis. In the kitchen you will get hands-on cooking tips and techniques for making tasty, healing whole-foods plant-based meals without refined sugar, salt or oil, and each week you will get to sample food, so you can see how good it can be! Costs include all food and equipment. $205 + taxes
