Let’s Get Cooking!

5-part series: Mondays, January 21 – February 18, 2019 5:30 – 7:30/8 pm
Location: Cranberry Senior’s Centre in Powell River
Cost: $200.00 per person (all food and equipment provided)

This 5-part series will focus on different meal forms, such as soups, pizzas, casseroles, one-pot mains, bowls, etc (forms will be determined by interests of participants). You will be introduced to new recipe ideas, and we will talk about how to start to think about cooking WITHOUT recipes, to make healthy plant-based eating faster, more convenient and easier than ever! Plant-Based Nutrition & Cooking in Gibsons, BC

Friday, January 25, 2019 3:30-5:30 pm at Gibson’s Public Market
Cost: $55 (pp) — all food and equipment included

I am excited to be offering a plant-based cooking/nutrition class in Gibsons, BC this January! This class (on Friday, January 25) is an introduction to plant-based cooking and nutrition. It will focus on the health benefits of a plant-based diet and lifestyle, and how to get started eating this way. You’ll get to help make and sample some delicious food too! It will be held at the Gibsons Public Market.

Plant-Based For Teens & Parents

4-part series: Wednesdays, February 27 – March 20, 2019 5:30 – 7:30/8 pm
Location: Powell River Recreation Complex, Kitchen & Elm Room
Cost: $240.00 per parent-teen team (all food and equipment provided)

Ages: 12 and up

Are you a teenager interested in eating more vegetarian or vegan foods? This 4-part series is for teenagers and their parents who want to learn more about preparing and cooking healthy, balanced plant-based snacks and meals. Throughout this fun series we will cook together, learning to make healthy, delicious snacks, and you will learn what you need to know about the nutrition side of things. To do this successfully it’s important to do it right! These classes are designed for a teen-parent team to take together.

Plant-Based For A Healthy Gut

5-part series: Thursdays, March 21 – April 18, 5:30 – 7:30/8 pm
Location: Cranberry Senior’s Centre in Powell River
Cost: $200.00 per person (all food and equipment provided)

In recent years we have started to understand more about the critical role that a healthy GI (gut) terrain plays in our overall health, and that what we eat and how we live has a tremendous effect on how healthy our gut, or microbiome, is. In this 5-part cooking/nutrition series we will focus on information, recipes and cooking skills to help you eat for your best gut health. Each class includes a full meal. Plant-Based Eating For Optimal Health

4-part series: Mondays, April 1 – 22, 5:30 – 7:30/8 pm
Location: Cranberry Senior’s Centre in Powell River
Cost: $160.00 per person (all food and equipment provided)

This 4-part series focuses on how to maximize the benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet. We will talk about how this way of eating can help prevent, manage and even sometimes reverse chronic diseases, and cooking tips on how to make tasty dishes with minimal salt, sugar, oil and other refined food products.




Vegan World Foods

5-part series: Thursdays, May 9 – June 6, 5:30 – 7:30/8 pm
Location: Cranberry Senior’s Centre in Powell River
Cost: $200.00 per person (all food and equipment provided)

There is so much to learn when it comes to eating a plant-based diet, and I am pleased to be able to offer this series of plant-based classes once again! In each class of this series we will focus on foods from cuisines around the world, which will allow us to explore some new ingredients and flavours, and emphasize the fact that plant-based cooking, while healthy, can also be amazingly varied and incredibly delicious! Classes will focus on cuisines such as Indian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, Polish or Mediterranean – the featured cuisines will be decided by the class. You will learn how to make dishes from each cuisine plant-based, and healthier, with reduced oil (we’ll only use it where it really makes a difference), and healthier, whole foods ingredients.





CANCELLATION POLICY

If you have registered for a course and discover you can no longer attend for some reason, full reimbursement is available up to 2 weeks prior to the course start date. 50% will be reimbursed up to 1 week prior to the start date.
