My name is Emma Levez Larocque, and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (Canadian School of Natural Nutrition) and Certified Plant-Based Chef (School of Natural Cookery). I also recently became a Food For Life Instructor with the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine. I am passionate about helping people to live their healthiest lives, and realizing how empowering it can be to take charge of your own health by eating more whole, healthy, plant-based foods.
There is a lot of confusion out there about what foods are healthy to eat. It seems like every day it’s something new – one day chocolate is healthy, the next day it’s not. One day you should be following a high-fat, high-protein diet, the next day it’s low fat! It’s no wonder many of us are confused.
I have been studying nutrition for many years now – formally since 2013 – and although it’s important to acknowledge that everyone is different, and it’s crucial to listen to your body, the truth is it’s not that complicated. Whole plant-based foods are full of nutrition, and we can get everything we need to be strong and healthy from them.
It inspires and comforts me that there is a Food Revolution happening right now, and that more people are becoming empowered and realizing that rather than drugs or pills, food, exercise, and good mental and emotional health are the keys to good health that we have been looking for.
